Account settings and billing

Your sign-in details, who you find grants for, the daily email, your plan, payment method and invoices.

Open Account settings in the portal

Open Account settings

Choose the gear icon at the top right of the portal. Account settings shows your name and email, plus a user ID that support may ask for.

To change your password, sign out, then choose "Forgot your password?" on the sign-in page.

How you use GrantAssembly

This is your answer to "How will you use GrantAssembly?" from when you signed up. Pick I'm a grant writer or consultant with multiple clients if you write grants for other organizations, or I'm looking for grants for my own organization if they're for your own. The change saves right away.

For your own organization, the top bar shows My organization, which opens your organization's page. For multiple clients, it shows Clients, with a card for each one. Switching only changes what you see: your clients, grants and documents stay as they are. If you switch to your own organization with several clients, My organization opens the first one, and the others are back when you switch back. My organization has no search, sort or archived list, since there's only one organization; archived clients are kept and show again under Clients.

Team

Team lists everyone who can sign in to your account and what each person can do. Owners invite people there. See Team and client access.

Billing, email preferences, How you use GrantAssembly and Your data are only shown to an account owner.

Email preferences

Tick or clear Daily grant update to turn the morning email on or off. The change saves right away. Sign-in emails, such as password reset codes, still come.

Clear New grants for my clients to keep the email for deadlines, changes to grants you watch and documents to renew, without new grants. To leave out just one client, use the Email switch on that client's page.

Your free trial

New accounts get a 14-day free trial of Professional with no payment method needed. A banner shows how many days are left. Choose Add a payment method any time before it ends to keep going. If you don't, your account pauses when the trial ends, and your clients, grants and documents are kept. Choose a plan to pick up where you left off.

Billing

Billing shows your plan, its status, your next charge or trial end date, and your payment method.

  • Change plan: switch between Starter ($19 a month, up to 5 clients) and Professional ($39 a month, unlimited clients and Foundations).
  • Update payment method: pay by card or bank account.
  • Invoices: past charges, each with a PDF to download.
  • Cancel subscription: your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again. Choose Keep subscription to undo it before then. On a paid plan you can pause for up to 3 months instead.

If a payment fails, your account stays open for 7 days while you update your payment method. For refunds and other billing questions, see Support.

Download a copy of your data

Under Your data, choose Download my data. After a moment a ZIP file lands in your Downloads folder. It holds:

  • your clients, grants and documents list as spreadsheets that open in Excel or Google Sheets;
  • everything else in your account (notes, proposals, your text library, settings) in one file named account-data.json, which any program can read;
  • your documents, in a folder for each client, grant or funder.

If your documents add up to more than 200 MB, the biggest ones are left out and the README file in the ZIP says which. Download those from the client's Documents (tick them, then Download as ZIP), or email support@grantassembly.com. You can download your data even while your account is paused.

See who opened what

Who opened what lists, newest first, each time someone on your account opened the portal, opened or downloaded a document, or downloaded your data, with their email and the time. If GrantAssembly staff ever change your account, for example to give free access, it shows as GrantAssembly staff. We keep the list for a year. Choose Show all to see more than the latest 10.

Delete your account

Only the person who set up the account can delete it.

  1. If you want a copy, choose Download my data first.
  2. Under Delete my account, choose Delete my account….
  3. Type DELETE in the box, then choose Delete my account.

What happens next:

  • Your subscription stops renewing, so you aren't charged again. You can keep using the portal until the deletion.
  • We email you to confirm. A banner at the top of the portal shows the date.
  • 14 days later we delete your clients, grants, notes, proposals and documents, and email you once it's done. This can't be undone.

Changed your mind? Choose Keep my account in the banner or under Your data before that date. Nothing is lost. We keep only billing records and the record of which terms you agreed to, as the Privacy Policy explains. You can also ask by email at support@grantassembly.com.

Still have a question? Email support@grantassembly.com. We reply within one business day.
