For one nonprofit

Grants made easier, without a grants department

Most small nonprofits have one person doing grants on top of another job. GrantAssembly is set up around your organization, not a list of clients. It shows which grants fit, what each one asks for and when it's due, so the next step is always clear.

Get started in minutes

Your profile is built from files you already have. Drop in your IRS determination letter, W-9 and latest Form 990, and GrantAssembly fills in your EIN, type of organization, state, year founded, budget and more.

You check each answer before it's saved, so you never retype what your paperwork already says.

An example with a made-up nonprofit: three documents are dropped in, and GrantAssembly offers the EIN, organization type, state, year founded and budget it read from them for you to confirm.
  1. Drop in your paperwork

Each file is read and filed with your documents. You confirm what it filled in.

  2. See what you're missing

Grant readiness lists what funders usually ask for that you don't have yet, such as a recent audit, or SAM.gov registration for federal grants.

  3. Describe your programs

Add each program once, with its logic model if you have one. Its keywords are used to find grants for that program.

What's different for one organization

No client menus
Pick "Just us" when you sign up, and every screen is about your organization. You can change it any time in Account settings.
Your documents stay current
GrantAssembly reminds you before your insurance, audit or SAM.gov registration expires, and downloads your documents as one packet when a funder asks.
Foundations that fund work like yours
Professional shows the private foundations that fund California organizations, how much they give, who they have funded and how well each fits your organization. See how many foundations gave in your county or to your kind of work.
Your board can look in
Invite your executive director, a board member or a volunteer. A viewer can see everything but can't change anything.

Common questions

We only apply for a few grants a year. Is it worth it?

Between grant seasons you can take a break for 1 to 3 months instead of canceling. Your records stay as they are.

Do we need Professional?

Starter ($19/month) covers federal grants and California state grants. Professional ($39/month) adds private foundations that fund California organizations. If you plan to ask foundations for money, pick Professional.

We're not in California. Can we use it?

Yes. Federal grants work for nonprofits anywhere in the US. State grants and foundation research cover California for now.

Who can see our documents?

Only the people you invite. Everything you upload is private and encrypted. You can download all of your data, or delete your account, from Account settings.

Do you take a share of our awards?

No. You pay a flat monthly price. GrantAssembly never takes a commission or a share of your awards.

How does the free trial work?

Every account starts with 14 days of Professional. No payment method needed. If you don't add a card, your account pauses when the trial ends and nothing is charged.
